A registered sex offender from Batavia has been arrested and accused of having sexual contact with two children, according to Batavia City Police.
Jeremy Alwardt, 19, of Batavia was charged yesterday with four counts of first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to Batavia City police officers.
Alwardt is a Level 2 sex offender and is accused of having sexual contact with two children, both younger than 11, in July 2006 and August 2007, officers said.He was arraigned yesterday in Batavia City Court and was remanded to the Genesee County Jail without bail. Alwardt is slated to return to court Jan. 7.
