A man already serving a prison sentence for fondling a 9-year-old girl was charged last week with molesting a 6- or 7-year-old girl in 2006.
Scott Phillip Johnson, 30, was charged Thursday with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child younger than 13. The felony carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and a $35,000 fine.
According to the criminal complaint, the girl asked her mother what “molested” meant after hearing the term on television in October. The girl’s mother explained it.
Her daughter responded, “That’s what (Johnson) did to me,” the complaint said.
In an interview with investigators, the girl said Johnson touched her inappropriately during a card game of “Go Fish” at her grandfather’s farm in the summer of 2006, according to the criminal complaint. The girl was staying with her grandfather for about a month and was either 6 or 7 years old at the time, documents show.
According to the complaint, the girl cried, hit Johnson and told him to “knock it off.” The girl said Johnson warned her never to tell anyone or else “he would go after” her, according to court documents.
Johnson, who had been living on the farm at the time, denied playing cards with the girl and denied touching her, the complaint said.
According to court documents, Johnson has three prior criminal sexual conduct convictions in Minnesota and Hawaii. He is currently serving a three-year prison sentence in Moose Lake, Minn., on a conviction last year of criminal sexual conduct with a 9-year-old girl in Winona, according to court records.According to the Department of Corrections, he is scheduled to be released from prison in December but will be on supervised release for the rest of his life.
A warrant has been issued to bring him to Winona County.
