A Corpus Christi man recently arrested in connection with a spring break rape case learned he won't be with out an attorney.
Tuesday, 22 year old Aaron Herrera received a court appointed attorney before a magistrate judge. The convicted sex offender is accused of raping a 17 year old female on Padre Island at beach marker 199.
He was arrested Sunday, during break break. Bystanders kept him there until police arrived.
Just last year, Herrera was convicted of sexual assault of a child and given ten years probation.
We sat down today with his probation officer. She says going to the beach would be a risky situation for any sex offender on probation, and was shocked of the arrest.
