Jeremy Vater - Repeat Sex Offender - Child Molester

A Beatrice man previously convicted of sexual assault has been charged with third degree sexual abuse of a child, subsequent offense.

During his March 13 arraignment, Vater, 26, was charged with third degree sexual abuse of a child, subsequent offense, a Class IC felony.

Vater, of 612 Lincoln St., could face up to 50 years in prison if convicted.

He is accused of inappropriately touching a 5-year-old girl between May 16 and June 11, 2008.

Vater, 26, was convicted of third degree sexual assault of a child on Aug. 4, 2005, in Jefferson County. He is a level three registered sex offender.
