Robert Wesley Bell - Repeat Sex Offender - Preying on Children

Police say Robert Wesley Bell, 51, was trading child pornography. During a joint Colorado Springs ICE and CSPD ICAC investigation, detectives realized Bell was on probation for Sexual Exploitation of Children, and that he is a registered a sex offender currently residing at 120 W. Van Buren Street, #13, in close proximity to two elementary schools.

Detectives raided the home and review his computer, which is done in all home visits. Detectives say images of suspected child pornography were found and other items were found that indicated Bell may have been victimizing children in the Colorado Springs area. Detectives also say they have reason to believe Bell may have been in contact with children very recently.

Bell was previously a minister, youth minister and a certified counselor.

The Colorado Springs Police Department ICAC Unit is urging anyone who may know or might have been a victim of Mr. Bell to come forward. Bell was taken to the EL Paso County Criminal Justice Center for the probation violation, and is being held there with additional charges forthcoming.
