Kareem Walshad McNeal - Convicted Rapist - Predator - carried a gun to school

Kareem received a 15 year sentence in 1999 for kidnap and rape. Recently released from civil commitment he was on school grounds to pick up "a roomate's child" carrying a weapon and impersonating an officer.

THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T LET THEM OUT
A registered sexual predator showed up at Chisholm Elementary School two days in a row brandishing what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun and claiming to be a federal drug enforcement agent, officials said tonight.
Kareem Walshad McNeal, 28, was arrested today after New Smyrna Beach police received a tip that he might be at the school with a gun, a report states. Investigating officers recovered a BB gun that resembled a full-size handgun.

The tipster initially identified McNeal from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement sexual offender Web site and later identified him as the man she saw armed with a handgun claiming to be a federal agent, the report states.

McNeal was arrested at 531 N. Dixie Freeway - his registered "permanent" address of two weeks though he has lived there since Aug. 9, Sgt. Eugene Griffith said. By roadway, his house is 1,584 feet away from the school, well outside the 1,000 feet required for compliance with Florida law.

McNeal "was there picking up his roommate's child. (The incident) occurred in the parent pickup area," Griffith said.
McNeal was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and possession of a weapon on school property. He was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bail allowed. In 1999, he was convicted in Miami-Dade County on kidnapping and rape charges.
