A 42-year-old registered sex offender faces an additional 18 months in prison in connection with two incidents where he inappropriately touched two females, including one at the Gilroy Wal-Mart, according to the Santa Clara County Office of the District Attorney.

Greg Eugene Carter faces two misdemeanor charges, one for attempted sexual battery and annoying or molesting a child, and one for sexual battery, stemming from two separate incidents. In one case, Carter inappropriately touched a female shopper several times while she shopped at the Gilroy Wal-Mart in September. In the second case, a juvenile was shopping at the Milpitas Kohl's in November when Carter reportedly attempted to touch her as he walked past her.

Carter is a registered sex offender and remains in Santa Clara County jail. He will be in a San Jose court Wednesday for a pretrial conference in connection with the November incident. On March 27, Carter will be in a San Martin courtroom in connection with the September incident.
