Bailey, 43, of Lower Township, appealed his 2002 conviction and won a new trial on charges of aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment for assaulting a girl in his care.
He was released on parole after serving three years of a 10-year sentence in state prison on the first conviction. But state Superior Court Judge Raymond Batten sent Bailey back to prison Friday to serve 15 years on the same two charges. He will get credit for time served.
Bailey walked into court Friday through the front door but Cape May County Sheriff’s deputies led him out the back in handcuffs after the second sentencing.
Batten said he could not see why former state Superior Court Judge Carmen Alvarez in 2003 did not sentence Bailey to the longer consecutive sentences that he thought Bailey deserved.
It was not immediately clear how much additional time Bailey will have to serve before he is eligible for parole again.
