Delton Travis, 66, was already a registered sex offender following a 1979 molestation conviction before he was charged in this latest case with molesting a 10-year-old girl, according to an announcement issued by the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office.Prosecutors didn’t disclose details of what happened and when in their statement. The conviction is Travis’ third strike under California’s Three Strikes law. That means he’ll have to serve 85 percent of his sentence before he can become eligible for parole. When released, he’ll have to re-register as a convicted sex offender.
